IHG® Rewards Club wins big at the Freddies Awards

19.05.2016

On 28 April, the 26th annual Freddie Awards ceremony took place in Las Vegas, Nevada – and IHG® Rewards Club was a big winner, picking up four prestigious awards! With almost three million votes cast, IHG Rewards Club was voted as the winner in the following categories:
  • Best hotel redemption ability Europe and Africa
  • Best hotel redemption ability Middle East and Asia/Oceania
  • Best hotel customer service Middle East and Asia/Oceania
  • 210 Award Europe and Africa (a new category introduced for the strongest performing programme of the year off the radar of voters)
IHG® Rewards Club is focused on creating personalised experiences for members by giving them the freedom to do the things they love most with their points and making it easy to share benefits with family and friends. And it is constantly evolving, based on member and consumer insight to make sure it delivers the most innovative, relevant and rewarding experiences for global travellers. The results from the Freddies show that our work is paying off and those global travellers are taking notice!

Winners in the Freddies are chosen by the public; the awards are picked through a process which ranks each contender for an award on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most preferred. For us to win four awards is a great achievement which we should all be proud of.

David Canty, VP of Global Loyalty Programs said: “We are greatly honoured to have won four Freddies awards, which are considered one of the most prestigious member-generated awards in the travel loyalty industry. Winning in the categories of Best Redemption and Customer Service is especially pleasing because both are crucial to the success of IHG® Rewards Club. I would like to thank colleagues around the world for their contributions, and special congratulations to the Europe and AMEA regions.”
