Crowne Plaza® Hotels & Resorts - best hotel chain at this year’s Guardian and Observer Travel Awards

Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts has taken the top accolade of best hotel chain at this year’s Guardian and Observer Travel Awards (UK).

The publishing group ran a survey on the Guardian website in November last year, which was answered by more than 6,000 people. The survey focused on travel habits in the previous 12 months across different categories - package, ski, cruise, flights and hotels.

 

Readers were asked if they had stayed in a hotel in the last year, the name of the hotel/chain and then some questions about how they rated it. These questions were completely unprompted, so Crowne Plaza was up against every hotel out there! If a hotel company scored fewer than 1% of the total votes in that category, they were excluded. Over that threshold and the winner was the company with the best customer satisfaction scores.

 

At the awards ceremony, which took place in Edinburgh, judges confirmed that Crowne Plaza’s win was great testament to the quality of our hotels and the teams who work in them.
